Women's Ice Hockey - 4 Nations Cup in Finland

The 4 Nations Cup is an annual women's ice hockey tournament, held between major national teams in the sport; currently, these are Canada, United States, Sweden and Finland. In general, it is held in or around November each year (Wikipedia).

I was picked for Team Finland that was playing the tournament this year in Finland. I've had somewhat of a break from the national team during the past couple of years so it was really great to got to play in the lion shirt again and especially that the games were played in Finland.
Me interviewed by MTV3 before the 4 Nations Cup tournament (in Finnish).

We stayed the week in the Finnish Olympic training center in Vierumäki, where we practised and did also some testing. The other teams had their games there in the training center, where as we played in different locations including Mikkeli, Kerava, Hartwall Arena and Tikkurila.

The result of the tournament was not too good as we lost the bronze game against Sweden in the penalty shots. I'm really confident though on the good work that the team has been doing, for example the tight game against Canada (4-2 for CAN) showed us that we're on the right track.

The first game against Sweden can be seen in MTv3 Katsomo (registration and a 5 €/day fee). My brother Petri @mertanen also took some pictures in the game against Sweden. Warning, there's a bit of a focus on Temppa (that's me!) in the pictures :D.
